Description

The Research Group in Healthcare, InveCuid+12, was born in 2013 with a mission to promote Nursing Research and propose improvements in clinical healthcare practice and patient safety. In 2014, it joined the Research Institute of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre (i+12) as an associated research group. In 2018 it was considered an emerging group in the Transversal Area of the i+12 Institute.

This is a solid group formed by leading professionals of the Nursing Division trained in healthcare services in the context of the strategic lines of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre and led by experts in healthcare research using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

The InveCuid+12 group is coordinated by the Supervisor of the Research, Development, Innovation and Nursing Processes Area of the Hospital 12 de Octubre and is comprised by nurses and physical therapists belonging to a wide arrange of departments. The group is involved in several lines of research, including: critical care, early stages of life and childhood, ostomy and wounds, nursing language, physical therapy, and patient safety and comfort.

General objectives of the group

  • To promote research in inpatient care.
  • To promote the implementation of research in standard clinical practice.
  • To increase the number of noteworthy publications in the field of healthcare.
  • To promote the development of multisite studies.
  • To implement projects linked to universities.
  • To cooperate with other research groups of the i+12 Institute.
  • To incorporate new members and research lines.
